X Civil Management Course (X CGCC)
Opening of Applications (January 7 to February 8)

07 january 2019

The National Defense Institute (IDN) will hold the tenth edition of the Civil Crisis Management Course (CCMC) in the academic year 2018/2019.

The purpose of the CCMC is to contribute to raising awareness and training of senior and middle managers of State structures and civil society, as well as elements with potential for the performance of relevant functions in the future, enabling them to intervene in crisis-related issues in multilateral environments.

The X Civil Crisis Management Course 2019, taking place at IDN's facilities in Lisbon and by videoconference in Oporto, is being developed in three modules, under the following themes: "The European Union and Civil Crisis Management", from 11 to 15 of March; "Crises, European bodies and their interlocutors", from 8 to 12 April; and "The participation of Portugal and the planning of a crisis management operation within the European Union", from 13 to 17 May. The first and second modules are essentially expository and discussion sessions, while the third module, in addition to the testimonies of Portuguese participation in this type of missions, will be more practical, based on an implementation exercise in which the auditors will plan a mission to manage an international crisis within the framework of the European Union. This exercise will be carried out in person at IDN's facilities in Lisbon and will last for 3 days.

On March 8, 2019, an International Open Conference will be held and will be open to the general public.

The admission requirements and selection criteria can be found in the Course Regulations.

For this edition of the X CCMC 2019, 45 vacancies were provisionally opened: 25 institutional vacancies and 20 individual vacancies, being limited to 8 vacancies for auditors who wish to attend the course in Porto and to enjoy transportation and accommodation provided by IDN for the exercise. It is stressed that the applications are open from January 7 to February 8, 2019.

For the frequency of the Course, a one-time fee is due. For the present edition, for the individual auditors admitted, the value of 200 euros was set.
