The National Defense Institute (IDN), the NOVA IMS of Lisboa Nova University (ISEGI-NOVA) and the Portuguese Republic Intelligence Service (SIRP) organize, under a protocol signed between the three institutions, the 2nd edition of a Post-Graduation on "Information Management and Security." The post-graduation lasts for two semesters, with each compulsory curricular unit having an academic load of two hours per week. The course consists of 8 Curricular Units with mandatory 7.5 ECTS each: Political Regimes and Intelligence Services; Globalization and Security Risks; Structured Analytical Techniques for Intelligence Analysis; Economic and Competitive Intelligence; Intelligence Services in Portugal; Security and Defense Regional Dynamics; Social Network Intelligence; Methodology and Techniques of Analysis and of Prospective. In this second edition of the course classes will start on February 17, 2015 and end in December 2015, functioning in a post work-hours system, on Fridays from 18:30 to 22:30 and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00. The sessions take place in the NOVA IMS facilities in Lisbon. Participants in the Post-Graduation Course may subsequently obtain the degree of Master in Information Management provided they comply with the mandatory units of the Master's program and draw up a scientific dissertation or project work, unique and especially made for that purpose, or undergo an internship of a professional nature, delivering a final report, made during the third semester of the course and corresponding to 35 additional ECTS. The course is aimed at graduates in any compatible area who wish to acquire skills related to strategic and security studies or who wish to update their knowledge and explore new perspectives, in relation to the current theories and themes. Among the potential recipients of this Post-Graduation stand out those who have responsibilities in the areas of intelligence and security and, in particular, elements of the security forces and services, military, managers working in areas that support decision making and competitive intelligence, NGO technicians, and other public administration officials with responsibility in information management.
