In recent months, Taiwan has emerged as one of the most complex and troubled hotbeds of Sino-American relations. As a result of Washington's strategic pivot to the Indo-Pacific, the emergence of China as a regional power and the changes that have taken place in Taiwan's domestic politics, a prolonged crisis is anticipated around Taiwan's future and its place in the order of the emerging region. Given that the events ahead in the area will have far-reaching international repercussions, Europe will certainly not be immune from the Taiwanese crisis.
