​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Strategic, Geoeconomic and Foresight Analysis Course (4ºCAEGP), organized by the National Defence Institute, will be developed on an annual rotation basis, between the Porto and Lisbon facilities of IDN.

 The course is an advanced studies course, aimed at the development of skills associated with the creation, anticipation and management of change, in a globalized and technological world, not free of risks and threats.

CAEGP seeks to provide:

  • An information and reflection space capable of developing capacities to anticipate and manage change in a range of fields (scientific, technological, economic, political, social and security and defence) on an individual and organisational scale;

  • The acquisition of skills in scenario building and foresight techniques;

  • The exchange of ideas arising from the diversity of academic backgrounds and professional experience of the participants.


     

​Provide auditors with knowledge leading to developing skills in anticipating and managing change in a series of domains (scientific, technological, economic, political, social and security and defence) at an individual and organizational scale, using scenario development techniques and prospective.​​​

The 6th CAEGP lasts for ten weeks on a face-to-face and part-time basis. The course takes place at the facilities of the Porto Delegation of the National Defense Institute and comprises various activities, such as: conferences, lectures, group work and debates.​

(The CAEGP will be developed annually between the IDN's Porto and Lisbon facilities).​

CAEGP is aimed at a diverse audience, including:

  • Staff from the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

  • Elements of the diplomatic career;

  • Officers of the Armed Forces and Security Forces and Services;

  • Entrepreneurs;

  • Executives;

  • University professors;

  • Journalists;

  • University students in the fields of Political Science, International Relations, Economics and Management, at least with a bachelor's degree.

a) Candidates for attendance at the CAEGP are selected by a Selection Committee appointed annually by the IDN Board.

b) Admission to the course includes general requirements and special admission criteria.

c) The general requirements are:

     • Hold a degree or higher degree, without prejudice to the fact that, by decision of the IDN Directorate, candidates are admitted whose professional profile guarantees sufficient qualification for their attendance;

     • Performance of functions for which the course objectives are highly interesting.

d) Any special criteria will be defined annually by the IDN Board.

e) The list of candidates selected for attending the course is drawn up in descending order and includes a number of substitutes, who become full-time when effective candidates withdraw.​

f) The IDN informs admitted candidates 10 working days before the start of the Course.​

a) Individual applications are formalized by submitting, within the defined application period, the following documents:

  • Application form ​duly filled in (online);
  • Curriculum vitae;
  • A current, colour passport photograph;
  • Copy of qualifications certificate.

b) Applications will only be considered if they include all the documents indicated and sent, attached to the application form or electronically to idn.candidaturas@defesa.pt.

c) Candidates will be informed about their admission to the course by e-mail until the stipulated date.

The auditors must pay a single fee of 300.00 Euros.​
