​​​​​​​​​​The purpose of the Cyber Security and Crisis Management in Cyberspace Course (CGCiber) is to contribute to the awareness and training of leaders, senior and middle management of State structures and civil society, as well as elements with potential to perform relevant functions in the future, enabling them to intervene in issues related to cyberspace crisis situations.


. Sensitize auditors to the risks and threats that cyberspace poses to National Security and Defense; 

. Promote the sharing of knowledge related to crisis management in cyberspace to enable qualified participation in supporting decision-making processes; 

. Develop analytical capabilities that enhance, through awareness of new concepts and methodologies, the adoption and development of more effective organizational strategies in the fight against cyber threats; 

. Promote training for a strategic culture of Cybersecurity and Cyberdefense to enhance the development of scientific and/or professional skills; 

. To promote scientific study and research in Cyberspace Security and Defense and related areas.​

​The Course Plan is mainly oriented toward the development of organizational policies and strategies, having a multidisciplinary nature, grouping the different themes into five fundamental modules subordinated to the following themes:

Module 1 - "Global Perspective of Cyberspace", which seeks to characterize the Society – Information relationship in a virtual, free and open space such as cyberspace;

Module 2 - "Economy, Technology and Security", in which the structural and functional aspects of cyberspace are analyzed, contributing to the understanding of the nature of cyber threats and the need for their regulation;

Module 3 - "Cybersecurity", where aspects related to information security and the need to develop a National Strategy are discussed, capable of combating cybercrime, safeguarding national interests and protecting critical infrastructure;

Module 4 - "Cyberdefence", which will characterize the different aspects related to Cyberspace Security and Defence, will be described to explore national synergies and enhance the development of cooperative efforts at the multinational level;

Module 5 - "Strategic Decision Exercise", which is a result of the course, seeking to encourage discussion and raise relevant issues related to crisis management situations in cyberspace to improve processes and provide methodologies to be used in decision making.​

Leaders, senior and middle management of the State and civil society structures, Armed and Security Forces Officers, Diplomats, Academics and Executives interested in developing a cybersecurity culture and acquiring knowledge in the area of ​​Crisis Management in Cyberspace, both at the level of Companies as well as of National Security and Defence.​​​


Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following criteria: 

. Hold a degree or higher degree, without prejudice to the fact that, by decision of the IDN Directorate, candidates are admitted whose professional profile guarantees sufficient qualification for their attendance; 

. ​Performance of functions for which the course's objectives are considered high interest or professional or academic path ensures the dissemination of a strategic cybersecurity culture.​

Individuals

Individual applications are formalized, within the defined application period, by completing the electronic form available on this website and submitting the following documents:

  • Curriculum synthesis / Curriculum Vitae must be in Portuguese (maximum 1 A4 page);
  • Copy of certificate(s) of qualifications;
  • Passport photography, current and in colour.

Institutional

The IDN annually invites bodies from central, regional or local administration, from the Armed Forces, from the Security Forces and Services, and representative entities of civil society to nominate employees to attend its courses.

Institutional applications to attend the course are made by designating the Entities with places allocated in each course edition.​

Institutional applications are formalized, within the defined application period, by completing the electronic form available on this website and submitting the following documents:

  • Official nomination by the competent body according to the defined vacancy;
  • Curriculum summary / Curriculum Vitae must be in Portuguese (maximum 1 A4 page);
  • Copy of certificate(s) of qualifications;
  • Passport photography, current and in colour.

In the process of designating the holder of the institutional vacancy, it is up to the respective entities to ensure that the candidate meets the requirements established for admission to the course.

Applications will not be accepted if:

• Are not properly instructed (ex: lack of documents);

• Do not meet admission criteria.

The presentation of any required documentation after the stipulated deadline also determines the non-acceptance of the application.

Individual applications are considered by a Selection Committee appointed by the IDN Director.​

Candidates will be informed about their admission to the course by email.
