The armed conflict in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, has assumed unavoidable proportions not only in terms of victims and destruction, but also in terms of the potentially destabilizing effects for the entire region. The actions of a local insurgency movement have evolved into a conflict of considerable scale, attracting the attention of the international community and creating fears about the capacity of the Mozambican state to be able to provide an adequate response. This current issue is the theme of Prof. Pedro Seabra, advisor to IDN and Researcher at CEI-Iscte.
