IDN Cadernos Nº35 was published, entitled "A Antártida no Espaço Geopolítico do Atlântico Sul", by Vanessa Rei.
Antarctica is a privileged outdoor laboratory used by many researchers, namely Portuguese, to study phenomena such as climate change or the greenhouse effect. It is also a geopolitically important territory in the South Atlantic, very desirable for several countries due to its location, physical characteristics and natural resources.
This issue of IDN Cadernos seeks to arouse the reader's curiosity for the analysis of Antarctic issues from the perspective of the social sciences, a topic that is still little explored in Portugal.
